Here ’ s my Meme ’ s recipe for torta . It ’ s an Italian bread / cake that her mother and her grandma used to make in Italy . When I was little , I used to LOVE this , and I would gorge myself on it … to the point that she would make me my very own .
INGREDIENTS
• 2 eggs
• 1 ½ cups sugar
• 1 stick margarine
• 1 tbsp vanilla extract
• 1 tbsp baking powder
• ½ cup milk
• 2 cups walnuts
• ¼ tsp salt
DIRECTIONS 1 . Heat oven to 375 ° F . 2 . Mix ingredients using an electric mixer . 3 . Place batter into a 7x11 glass pan
( not a traditional cake pan ).
4 . Bake at 375 ° F for 10 minutes . Turn down to 350 ° F and bake for 30 minutes .

This cookie recipe is from my husband ’ s childhood best friend ’ s mom , who was gracious enough to share the recipe with me . Now I make them to celebrate every occasion for our family and tweak the recipe for each occasion – red and green M & Ms for Christmas , rainbow sprinkles for birthdays , even dark chocolate and sea salt for our Overabove Christmas party last year !
INGREDIENTS
• 2 ¼ cups flour
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 1 cup butter , softened
• ¼ cup granulated sugar
• ¾ cup brown sugar
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 1 package ( 4 serving size ) instant vanilla pudding mix
• 2 eggs
• 1 12-ounce package of chocolate chips
• 1 cup nuts chopped ( optional )
DIRECTIONS 1 . Preheat oven to 375 ° F . 2 . Combine butter , sugars , vanilla and pudding mix . Beat in eggs . Add flour and baking soda and mix together . Stir in chocolate chips ( and nuts ).
3 . Drop by rounded teaspoon on ungreased baking sheet .
