UNDERTAKING AN
ARCHAEOLOGICAL DIG
When investigating a historical site it all starts with a series of
questions - what, where, and when? These questions lead to a
search for as much recorded information as possible about the site
through research into land records, probate and church records,
town and regional histories, old maps, and any other type of
documentation that can shed light on the location of the planned
dig. The more we know before the dig begins the better we can
understand what is revealed during the excavation.
