Holiday Mixed Nuts Submitted by Sue MacClain , Creative Director | Makes 3 cups

I like to make one batch as written , and then a second batch with a little cayenne pepper for a sweet and spicy kick .

INGREDIENTS
• 1 lb nuts ( pecans , almonds , cashews or any mixture )
• 1 egg white
• 1 tbsp water
• ¾ cup sugar
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 tsp cinnamon
DIRECTIONS : 1 . Preheat oven to 300 ° F . 2 . Beat egg whites with water until stiff but not dry . 3 . Add the nuts to the beaten egg whites . 4 . Mix sugar , salt and cinnamon together in a large bowl . 5 . Add nut and egg mixture to the dry ingredients and mix to coat . 6 . Spread nuts on a cookie sheet and bake for 45 minutes , stirring every 15 minutes or so .
