This evening will be hosted by Count and Countess
von Holstein Pallavicino, who will invite us to their
wonderful residence for an intimate farewell dinner,
dedicated to the International Friends.
The Castello di Scipione is one of the oldest historic
castles in the region, dating back to 1025 when it was
built as a military fortress, part of a large defensive system
set up by the Pallavicino family for the protection and
control of their State, a vast territory between the Po River
and the Apennines mountains whose capital was Busseto,
creating an important link between this noble family and
the Verdi homelands.
