DAY 3
THE VERDI
HOMELANDS
We’ll spend the day outside Parma touring the
places that Giuseppe Verdi called home. The
house where he was born; a place of work and
sacrifice, and where the composer began his
musical life learning on a spinetta. We will see the
ancient church of Saint Michele Archangelo where
Verdi was baptised and was tutored on the organ.
The organ, built in 1797 and restored in 2000, will
be featured in a private musical performance by
Maestro Dino Rizzo, a great Verdi scholar.
